Western Railway Museum, Rio Vista Junction, California

Interurban Train. The Western Railway Museum operated a three-car train of interurbans on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Salt Lake and Utah 751, Oakland Antioch and Eastern 1020, and Sacramento Northern 1005 all carried passengers on the museum’s line throughout the day. The most unusual of the three is car 751 which is a parlor-observation interurban (Niles Car and Manufacturing Company, 1916). One of the few cars in the museum that never operated in California in revenue service, it was acquired by Bay Area Electric Railroad Association in 1949 and was moved to California where it was used for excursions on the Sacramento Northern before coming to the Western Railway Museum.
