Transit Museum, Court Street Station, Brooklyn, New York

Subway Semaphore. One of many items that was brought to the NY Transit Museum in the past 46 years is semaphore signal which once controlled movements on the system. On Friday, September 16, 2022, it is seen in a sea of artifacts including an R-15, R-33S, and a Triplex-D. Equally notable is the Court Street sign, which is original to the station and has been in place since it opened in 1936. While only in revenue service for 10 years, the station and its tracks have always remained part of the system, and became the home of the New York Transit Exhibit in 1976.
