Railroads Cooperate. After some debris fell from Central Warehouse in Albany, New York, and the subsequent need arose to asses the possible instability of the building, Amtrak service was been suspended between Albany-Rensselaer and Schenectady, New York since the last train, Train 49 (Lake Shore Limited), passed on Thursday, July 29, 2022, until Monday August 1, 2022 when Train 48 (Lake Shore Limited) crossed the Livingston Avenue Bridge. Minor repairs were made to the building, and even three years later, further discussion is being carried out on planning to demolish the building.

In the meantime, CSX cooperated with Amtrak to begin qualifying Amtrak crews on a diversion route normally only used by freight trains. Seen here, Amtrak 709 (P32AC-DM) and 113 (P42DC) bracket a single coach working as Selkirk Branch Qualification Train P942-31 on July 31, 2022. The train is seen crossing Normans Kill near Frenchs Hollow in Altamont, New York. For several years, crews maintained this qualification between Hoffmans and Castleton-On-Hudson, New York, which was used once to move a revenue train.
