Signs Of Spring. Amtrak California Train 580 had just crossed Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad, California on April 1, 2022 with CDTX 2109 (SC44, Siemens) leading when it approached a bright patch of daisies. The six-car train of cars is making the shorter southern only run of Pacific Surfliner service, from Los Angeles to San Diego, about 3 hours in duration. The full length of this service will bring passengers from San Luis Obispo to San Diego in about 9 hours.
