Amtrak 145 (P42DC) was painted to represent the heritage of Amtrak's Phase III for its 40th Anniversary, and was an appropriate leader for Train 43 (Pennsylvanian) on its 50th Anniversary on May 1, 2021, as seen at the former Pennsylvania Railroad tower "HUNT" in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Created to ease the burden of money-losing passenger services on private railroads, it has found its way to a half century of continuing service to the country.
