Amtrak 90214 F40NPCU "Downeaster"
Happy 19th Birthday! The culmination of decades of work by local advocates came to fruition on December 15, 2001 with the inaugural run of Amtrak Downeaster service between Boston, Massachusettes North Station and Brunswick, Maine. Amtrak F40NPCU 90214 (néeAMTK 214, F40PH) received the Downeaster logo as part of its conversion to cab service for Maine, as seen on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Albany-Rensselaer, New York. While the engine is clearly painted for state supported service, the lighted pointless arrow in the background is classic national Amtrak.
