During a scheduled outage at Amtrak's New York Penn Station on January 10, 2018, a track worker cuts a section of rail on Track 15 that will be removed as the entire roadbed will be ripped up and replaced. Performing work during these planned events prevents accidents by not waiting until there are problems with the tracks, and instead doing these planned projects to keep the railroad in a state of good repair.
