Sunrise At High Bridge. A late-running CSX Q701-05 arrives just in time to see the sun as it travels down the Hudson Line under the High Bridge in the Bronx, New York on Saturday, July 6, 2019 next to a very still Harlem River with CSXT 8845 (née-CR 6481, SD40-2, 11/1978) leading. The landmark High Bridge was built in 1848 as part of the Croton Aqueduct, the first large-scale water supply feed in New York City, with the High Bridge Water Tower added 1866-1872. Used to supply water until December 15, 1949, the bridge fell into disrepair and was closed in 1970. After significant reconstruction, on June 9, 2015, it reopened to once again provide a pedestrian crossing between Manhattan and the Bronx.
