Hopper-ing Along. Recently delivered MTA Metro-North Railroad ballast hopper cars MNCW 1500-1509 were sitting at CSX's Croton West Yard on the evening of May 6, 2025. These cars will be used to transport and drop ballast during rail maintenance and construction projects, and will replace older cars on the railroad's Maintenance of Way roster.
