MTA NYCT Subway R62A Transfer On The B Division

On the night of September 16, 2025, MTA NYCT Subway transferred A Division subway cars from Corona Yard (7 Line) to 239 Street Yard (2/5 Line). The 7/Flushing Line can only access the rest of the system at Queensboro Plaza and the Broadway BMT, so all non-revenue equipment moves (9-foot-wide A Division cars) will have to pass through platforms designed for 10-foot-wide B Division cars. As you can see, this leaves an additional 6 inches of platform gap. During the warmer months, R62A cars are used on trash trains to provide air conditioning to the crews.
