Farewell To 4309. On the night of August 21-22, 2024, MTA NYCT Subway R211A 4309 was transported from Coney Island Yard to 207 Street Yard to be transported off of the property. This car was damaged prior to arriving on MTA property and after assessment, it was determined that the car would be removed from the property to be disassembled. About two weeks prior, R211A 4339 arrived on the property, was renumbered 4309, and has since been accepted and is operating in revenue service. The standard configuration of a power set on the subway is locomotive-rider car-locomotive, and like for the previous single car move, the locomotives were split and the car was transported solo with the other locomotive traveling behind as a protect. The trains are seen passing through the 181 Street Station (A Line).
