News Out Of The Naugatuck. At the Railroad Museum of New England, FL-9 NAUG 2019 (née-New Haven 2049) leads B39-8E TBRX 8537 south over the Naugatuck River in Waterbury, CT on the afternoon of Saturday, December 16, 2017. On this season's holiday trains, the two operated together on trains, and though I usually favored shooting in a way to show the FL-9 only, in this case, the allure of the reflection was too strong to resist. Children on the train met Santa Claus while enjoying a ride down the museum’s trackage in one of their vintage coaches. Fast-forwarding to the modern day, the FL-9 was recently damaged in a derailment and is undergoing repairs, while the B39-8E was fired up for the first time in several years on July 14, 2025.
