Market Street Railway, San Francisco, California
Milanese Meet. On the evening of April 4, 2012, former Milan, Italy cars 1811 (ex-1911/1928 paint) and 1818 (1930s-1970s paint) meet near the end of the SFMTA - San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency F-Market & Wharves Streetcar Line just outside Castro Station. These cars are 2 of the 11 on SFMTA's roster, and they represent a version the Peter Witt design that was created for Cleveland but saw service in 14 other US cities and was exported around the world. The Market Street Railway provides support in maintaining these cars and is a wealth of information on the history of transit in San Francisco, California.
