By Geroge, It's Pullman Service. Webb Rail's former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/sleeper 313 (WEBX 801044) is one of 3 Pullman sleeper service cars owned by Webb Rail. After the case of United States v. Pullman Co. separated the Pullman car manufacturing business (Pullman-Standard) from the Pullman sleeping car service business. Further, the railroads were allowed to own their own cars (even from other manufacturers) and have Pullman service on board. The manufacturing business would become Pullman Technology, and was sold to Bombardier in 1987, itself now a part of Alstom.
Webb Rail congratulates the
Pullman National Monument, National Park Service on its events this weekend, and thanks
Metra,
Amtrak, and the other participants that put on such a wonderful event for the public to continue to educate the public on the history of the Pullman Companies.
