Clear 275. It was a mere seven years ago this morning that Norfolk Southern Train 20R cleared the legacy Pennsylvania Railroad position lights at Auto 275 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The train itself was nothing special, but this type of signal was nearing the end of its era and was being replaced with more modern signals and Positive Train Control (PTC) hardware across the state. This specific location would "fall" just a few weeks later. At the time, trains would call clear of the automatic signals, giving those listening to the radio a heads-up on their location.
